Day 11

Well, today is the big day, when Savannah and I were left to fend for ourselves...with Justin at work and grandma and grandpa leaving, we thought about just sleeping through the whole day. We talked the folks into staying around a bit longer and went for our first hike up on Powell Butte this morning...somehow we managed to see a little sunshine, have a nice walk for an hour, and get back to the car right as it started to rain. We were sad to see them go after lunch time, but grandma and grandpa had to get on the road, hoping to make it to Boise by night. Savannah and I spent the afternoon watching the rain outside and waiting for Justin to come home from work. Tomorrow the Chalens will be here and we will have more adventures, so we have to rest up for them!

Another first for today...Savannah's first day in cloth diapers. I don't know if she would ever admit it, but I think she really likes them. :)

Day 10

This is our last post from Portland, tomorrow we hit the road. We have really enjoyed welcoming Savannah into the family and helping out where needed around here.
Yesterday and today were nice calm days around here for the most part. Everyone getting into a rythm of sorts. Savannah is still a big fan of the night hours, much to Elizabeths chagrin. Maybe one of these days she will get switched around. Justins parents and sisters will be getting in on Thurday so that should keep their lives busy for a while. We will talk to all when we get back home

Day 8

Sunday was a quiet day, time to just sit around and relax. Dad worked in the yard, the rest of us just kind of took it easy.

Day 7

The sun actually shined all day today, makes for a whole better attitude. Took a walk to the store in the afternoon. We went to visit a friend of Ann's from work, who now lives in Vancouver, had a great dinner, and ate way too much food. Everything is going fine with Savannah, eating on schedule, sometimes, and just a very content little girl

Day 6

We got to go to Elizabeth's work place and show off a little bit. Savannah wasn't particularly impressed and decided it was better to just take a nap. he sun finally came out this afternoon and it got quite nice. Hope it lasts for awhile. Savannahs cord fell off late this afternoon, another milestone. More tomorrow
Savannah - I can see why the sun is shinning inside the room you occupy - what a beauty - just like mom and grandma!!/congrats everyone/Beth, you seemed to have gone thru this w/ grace and calm!/talk to you soon - keep this pics coming please

Day 5

Today Savannah got to go along to the grocery store, Trader Joes, and pick out some of her favorite goodies, ok I did the picking for her. She still is a little confused about this night and thing, sho cares as long as we eat! She went to the doctor this afternoon and she now weighs in at 7 lbs 2 1/2 oz, and is 20 1/2 inches long. She is doing just great as far as the doctor is concerned. Mom thinks she really needs to figure the night / day thing out.
Saw the sun today, between wetness in the sky, but at least that was promising

I thought we might start a "blog" page to keep everyone up to date with the goings on in the family.
