Fall in Maine

Happy Autumn! We have been enjoying beautiful fall weather here in Maine and taking advantage by getting out and exploring our surroundings. Last weekend we climbed Bradbury Mountain, the foilage was incredible.
We also went apple picking and discovered Ollie can eat a whole apple with very little assistance. Although he seems to manage to get more juice on the top of his head than in his mouth.
Oliver dressed up as a duck for Halloween this year. He has a few children's books call Ollie the Duck so we thought it appropriate for his costume.

Hope all is well.

savannah and lucy

Savannah is absolutely loving her role as big sister, giving Lucy kisses all the time and always worrying about where Lucy is and what she is doing. Yesterday she got to hold her little sister and just wanted to rock with her.....

Ryan likes to sing

Last night Ryan decided he'd like to sing for the world (or at least he let me record his (or really Jon's) rendition of Joy to the World). Jon's been singing this to Ryan since he was a baby and Ryan loves to sing it now too!

Here's one of Kelsey's first smiles -- she seems to be giving them away pretty freely now, when she's in a good mood.

A recent photo of the two of them doing one of their favorite things (and Jon's too) ---

Ryan sure does love his little sister and Kelsey is pretty fond of him too.

savannah's first solo steps

Savannah has finally decided that she is ready to do some walking on her own....and I say some, because she still needs a lot of encouragement to do it and needs a purpose or destination...she's not ready to just walk around all over the place yet. We are getting closer, though, and we were all so excited last week when she finally took these first steps on her own and didn't cry about it! :)

The Adventures of Savannah

It's hard to believe it has already been a couple of weeks since our last posting. Savannah just keeps growing and getting cuter all the time. She is thoroughly enjoying her homemade meals of sweet potatoes and squash, sitting on the floor playing with all of her toys, and trying to catch the pets as they pass by her. We are slowly preparing for our move...Justin is working on packing up some boxes right now, while Savannah naps. Still no firm date on when we'll be making the trip, but it is coming up soon! We hope you are all doing well during the busy beginning of the holiday season!

Savannah's almost 7 months old

And what an adventure we have had the past few weeks! Savannah is diving into her meals of carrots and rice cereal (separate, of course). She seems to really like carrots, so I guess we will have to try peas next! She got a new "toy" a few days ago...the exersaucer...she loves playing with all of the different gadgets and bouncing up and down making a crashing noise with the contraption. On Sunday we had a beautiful day here (as we have had for quite a few days in a row...but this one Elizabeth actually had off from work, too), so we decided to head up to Mt. Hood for a nice afternoon hike. We didn't get to make it as far as we hoped to due to a seasonal bridge that had been removed, but it was nice to get out and get some fresh air and enjoy the sunshine!
